IPTV on Firestick: step-by-step setup
A Firestick doesn't play IPTV on its own: you install a player app, then sign in with your subscription details. The steps below take about ten minutes on any Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max, Lite or Fire TV Cube running Fire OS.
Step-by-step setup
Before you start, have your login details from us ready (server address, username and password) and keep the Fire TV remote close. You only do steps 1 to 3 once, even if you change apps later.
-
Install the Downloader app
On the Fire TV home screen, open Find (the magnifying glass), then Search. Type Downloader, select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews and choose Get or Download.
-
Turn on developer options
Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About. Highlight your device name (for example Fire TV Stick 4K) and press the select button on the remote seven times, until a message says you are now a developer. Press Back: Developer options now appears under My Fire TV.
-
Allow Downloader to install apps
Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to ON. This only lets Downloader install apps; nothing else on your Firestick changes.
-
Download your player app
Open Downloader and allow access to storage if it asks. In the URL box, type the download address published on the player’s official website (we also send you the right link with your login) and select Go. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done.
-
Sign in with your login details
Open the player app. In IPTV Smarters Pro, choose Login with Xtream Codes API. In TiviMate, choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes. Type the server address, username and password exactly as we sent them (they are case-sensitive), confirm, and wait while the channel list and TV guide load.
-
Tidy up and pin the app
Back in Downloader, choose Delete when it offers to remove the installation file: it frees space your Firestick needs. To reach your player quickly, open the Apps icon (three squares) on the home screen, highlight the app, press the Options button (☰) and choose Move to front.
That’s it: the app opens straight to your channels from now on. If you ever reset the Firestick, repeat the steps above and sign in again with the same details.

Common problems
- Developer options is missing
- Recent Fire OS versions hide it. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and press select seven times on your device name, as in step 2.
- “App not installed” error
- Usually there isn't enough storage, or an older version of the same app is still installed. Uninstall the old version, free some space in Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications, then install again.
- Buffering or freezing
- Move the Firestick to 5 GHz Wi-Fi or use an Ethernet adapter, restart it, and clear the player app's cache in Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications. Read the guide
- Downloader can't install anything
- Some newer Fire TV devices run Amazon's Vega OS instead of the Android-based Fire OS, and they don't install Android apps from outside the Appstore. Check Settings → My Fire TV → About before you order: if your model can't sideload, an Android TV box is the simpler option.
- The app doesn't show up in search
- Apps installed with Downloader never appear in Fire TV search results. Open the Apps icon (three squares) on the home screen to find them, then move them to the front.
