IPTV MAG box: set up your portal step by step

Classic MAG boxes don't use apps or usernames: the provider registers your box's MAC address and you enter a portal address in the settings. Ask us first whether your plan can be set up on a MAG portal, then follow the steps below.

Step-by-step setup

MAG boxes, made by Infomir, have been a fixture of UK IPTV setups for years. Classic models work differently from a Firestick: there’s no app and no username. Instead, the provider links your subscription to the box’s MAC address, and the box loads a portal.

Set up the portal

  1. Find your MAC address

    Look at the sticker under the box, or open Settings → System settings → Device info. Send us the MAC address (it usually starts with 00:1A:79) so we can register it.

  2. Open the portal settings

    Go to Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.

  3. Enter the portal address

    In Portal 1 name, type any name. In Portal 1 URL, type the portal address we sent you exactly, including http:// and the trailing part. Save with OK.

  4. Restart the portal

    Go back and choose Restart portal (or switch the box off and on). The portal loads with your channels and TV guide.

Classic MAG or Android model?

Newer Infomir models run Android TV. On those, you can skip the portal and install a regular player such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro, exactly as on an Android TV box. If you’re buying new hardware, an Android model or a Firestick gives you more app choice.

    Classic Linux MAG boxes load the provider's portal directly. No app to install: you just enter the portal address.

  • TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro

    On Android-based MAG models, you can install a regular player app instead of using a portal.

Common problems

“Your STB is blocked” or “Portal not found”
Usually the MAC address isn't registered yet, or the portal address has a typo. Check the address character by character, then contact us with your MAC address.
Stuck on the loading screen
Restart the portal from the system settings, or unplug the box for 30 seconds. Check that the box shows an internet connection.

Where do I find my MAG box's MAC address?
On the sticker underneath the box, and in the system settings under device information. MAG MAC addresses usually start with 00:1A:79.
Can I use TiviMate on a MAG box?
Only on Android-based MAG models. Classic Linux models use the built-in portal instead.
Can I move my subscription from a MAG box to a Firestick?
